Recall Up Date: 2002 - 2006 Nissan March/Micra & Cube
The bolt used in the steering wheel may not have been properly tightened, and in a worst-case scenario, drivers could lose steering control. No deaths, injuries or accidents have been reported as a result of the issue. The repair takes about 40 minutes at a dealership.
Last month, the U.S.-spec 2013 Nissan Altima was recalled for an improperly-inflated spare tire, and in 2012, a small number of 2012 and 2013 Altimas were recalled for improperly torqued power steering rack bolts.
The Nissan Micra is a subcompact hatchback sold worldwide, smaller in size than the entry-level Versa (sold as the Tiida in some markets) in the U.S. The Micra was never sold in the United States, but was sold in Canada from 1985 to 1991. The second-generation Nissan Cube, which was not sold in the United States, was based on the Micra, with the Cube migrating to the larger Tiida/Versa platform for the third generation model which went on-sale in the U.S. in 2008 as a 2009 model.
