Porsche recently reached 5 million fans on Facebook, and to celebrate
the milestone, the German automaker launched a campaign that allowed its
fans to customize a 911 Carrera 4S.
After more than a few months, the German automaker has finally brought
the one-off car to life, showing the entire production process on its
The making of the “5 Million Car” shows the build process, from
painting the body and installing the projector headlights, to placing
the automaker’s coat of arms badge on the hood. The unique Aqua Blue
Metallic-finished Porsche speaks to its Facebook fans with a decal along
its sides that reads “5M Porsche Fans,” while 20-inch white wheels
offset the blue paint color. Other custom touches include an “Aerokit
Cup” aero package, which adds a new front fascia with distinctive front
spoiler lip in addition to a double-decker fixed rear wing. It’s not all
visual though, as the Carrera 4S’s 3.8-liter flax-six puts out about
424 hp, up from the regular model’s 400 horses.
Now that the car’s been built, what will Porsche do with it? A lucky
winner will get to pilot the one-of-a-kind 911 at the Porsche Experience
Center in Silverstone; all they have to do is show Porsche how many
Porsche fans are on their friends list, and the one with the most
Porsche Facebook fans will win the trip to Silverstone.
