Audi’s newest model is so advanced, it doesn’t even exist in the real
world. It’s a futuristic virtual reality car called the Audi Fleet
Shuttle Quattro, and it was designed specifically for the upcoming
science-fiction film “Ender’s Game,” based on Orson Scott Card’s 1985
novel of the same name.
Set in the near future when aliens have invaded earth, “Ender’s Game”
tells the story of a young boy named Ender recruited to be trained as a
soldier at an intergalactic battle school. The Fleet Shuttle Quattro
can be seen in the trailer for the film and appears to be the method of
transport for the military when they come to earth recruit Ender.
Audi says the Fleet Shuttle Quattro is purely virtual and was
digitally integrated into the film, making this the first virtual Audi
designed for a feature film. However, the Fleet Shuttle Quattro is not
Audi’s first foray onto the silver screen. Various versions of the Audi R8 supercar have been featured as Tony Stark’s ride of choice in the Iron Man series of films, and the 2004 science-fiction film “I, Robot” also featured a futuristic version of the R8 called the RSQ.
Ender’s Game, produced by Summit Entertainment, will open November 1,
2013. Until then, check out the trailer below to see a glimpse of the
Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro in action.
