The Problem: Models with keyless ignition may have
an issue with the Central Electronic Module. When restarting the car
after it has been in sleep mode, a warning light may appear in the
instrument cluster, the front windshield wipers may not run continuously
when the ignition is on, and the turn signals, high beam headlights,
and headlight switch may not work. Another symptom, Volvo says, may be
the battery draining prematurely.
The Fix: Volvo will make a software upgrade to fix the issue. Owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-458-1552.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 7767 units including 2014-model-year S60s, XC60s, S80s, and XC70s. All four Volvos were refreshed for the 2014 model year.
