Nissan's Sentra Nismo concept has made its debut at the LA motor show.
performance tuning arm of the Japanese car firm has upped the ante on
the standard Sentra, discarding the 130bhp 1.8-litre inline four
cylinder unit and using the turbocharged 1.8-litre four-pot motor that
powers the Nissan Juke Nismo RS. It develops 240bhp in this form.
engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip
differential, while the standard suspension has been fettled with Nismo
performance springs and shocks. The Sentra Nismo is endowed with
performance tyres and a Brembo brake package.
modifications include a deeper front fascia, red accents on the lower
side sills, dual exhaust tailpipes and rear diffuser.
Nissan Sentra Nismo concept gains a mix of alcantara and leather trim
on the seats and pillars, with a special Nismo-style steering wheel.
Carbon fibre instrument panels and leather-trimmed gear shift knob and
shift surround complete the package.
While Nissan has not
confirmed if the the US-only Sentra Nismo will make production, Nissan
America's Fred Diaz told Autocar on the LA motor show stand, "It gives a
hint of a future Nismo model."
