The Kia Sedona and its platform mate the Hyundai Entourage minivan are being recalled for lower front control arms that are susceptible to corrosion in areas where road salt is used. Vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia are affected by the recall.
The recall affects a total of 79,867 2006-2012
Kia Sedona models, and 15,500 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage models. If the
control arm fractures, the vehicle could lose control and result in a
crash. Kia owners can call 800-333-4542, Hyundai owners can call
800-633-5151 or email email@example.com. The recall campaign is
scheduled to begin in December, and affected owners will be notified by
mail. The control arms will be inspected and replaced if necessary at
no charge to owners.
The Entourage was briefly offered by Hyundai as a minivan offering, but is essentially identical to the Sedona. An all-new Kia Sedona
