Hot News: New Ferrari California to be Unveiled on February 12

Ferrari is readying the next-generation California, with the Italian manufacturer announcing that the new model will be unveiled on February 12. The reveal will come prior to the cars public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Within the confines of Maranello, the California has the internal codename F149. The addition of the ‘M’ in the teaser image released by Ferrari is thought to be ‘Modificado,’ – Italian for modified. The upcoming California is likely to be a development of the current model, following a similar evolutionary process as the 456 and 456M along with the 575 and 575M.

Bigger changes still will take place under the bonnet. In place of the current 454bhp 4.3-litre V8 engine, Ferrari is likely to adopt the 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine from the Maserati Quattroporte, tuned to develop around 550bhp.

Designers will take styling inspiration from the new F12 Berlinetta and four-wheel drive FF. The interior will also be overhauled, with a new-look dash and multimedia system. Deliveries will begin shortly after its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. For more details click here.
