A single image of what appears to be a Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake has appeared online, a week before the Geneva Motor Show. Jaguar has stayed tight-lipped about the possibility of a hotter XF Sportbrake, but it would appear it’s managed to make the business case stand up.
Like the XFR-S Saloon, the Sportbrake wears an R-S badge on the front
grille, a deeper front bumper with three huge air intakes and chunky
side skirts. It doesn’t have the huge rear wing from the saloon, but
expect quad exhausts and a diffuser at the rear.
It’s a safe bet to assume if will use the same engine as the XFR-S
Saloon – a 542bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8, driving the rear-wheels
through an eight-speed auto. Top speed should be easily in excess of
180mph, while 0-60mph should take 4.6 seconds.
We’ll have more details if and when the XFR-S Sportbrake debuts in
Geneva, but expect the price for this new Mercedes E63 AMG rival to
start from just over £80,000. For more details click here.
