Wearing almost no disguise, the addition of an extra fuel filler cap on the rear quarter denotes this prototype as the Cayenne S E-Hybrid model. Other changes for the facelifted SUV extend to more stylish LED headlights and reshaped bumpers.
Although the spy shots don’t show it, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is likely to be fitted with neon green and silver badges as well as green brake calipers to help distinguish from the rest of the range – like the Panamera.
Mechanically, the powertrain from the Panamera S E-hybrid is also likely to be adopted. A 316bhp 3.0-litre supercharged V6 combined with a 94bhp electric motor provides the power, with Porsche claiming the system can return over 91mpg and emit just 71g/km of CO2. With the powertrain fitted to the Cayenne, those figures will suffer slightly due to the increased weight of the SUV but the S E-Hybrid is set to become the most frugal Cayenne in the range.
