The Problem: A power inverter module (PIM) in 2013-2014 Fiat 500e electric hatchbacks could seep coolant, causing a loss of power while driving. Over time, the PIM can leak coolant onto electrical components and cause a short-circuit and subsequent loss of power.
The Fix: Owners will be
contacted to schedule a service appointment. When the car is brought in,
the PIM will be replaced free of charge. Owners can call Fiat's
customer service line at 1-888-242-6342 for more information.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 4141 model-year 2013-2014 Fiat 500e models built between September 24, 2012 and April 4, 2014 are covered in the recall.
