2015 NAIAS Highlights: 2016 Acura NSX

Finally! Yeah finally, Honda revealed the production version of its legend and the off and the on project, NSX. At 2015 North America International Auto Show (NAIAS), Acura announced that it will go on sale this year. And it will be produced in the United States with its price around $150,000.

The all-new NSX is a mid-engine hybrid sport car which will compete the conventional supercars. It’s powered by Sport Hybrid Power Unit mated with twin-turbo mid-mounted DOHC V6. The coupe comes with 9-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and three electric motors. There are two electric motors in front which drives front wheels and makes instantaneous torque and dynamic distribution. Meanwhile, there’s a motor electric motor in rear that supports accelerating, braking, and transmission shifting. Unfortunately, Acura hasn’t released the official number about its horse power, how fast it can reach 100 km/h, and its maximum speed.

From under the hood, it’s time to see the exterior sector. Up front, it’s almost identical with the concept version. Now, the headlights comes with black accent. Honeycomb grille and bulge line in C-pillar make NSX looked aggressive and muscular. Rear, we’ll find nice looking and neat design. For me, it looks nice with LED tailights and rear diffuser.

Overall, 2016 Acura NSX looks great from its design until its mechanical (even though Acura and Honda haven’t released the details spec, but it seems promising for car enthusiasts). I expect to see the 2016 Honda NSX at 2015 Geneva Motor Show next March.
