Geneva Show 2015 Highlights: Aston Martin DBX Concept
Aston Martin shocked the crowd of Geneva Motor Show introducing a new concept car, called DBX. It’s not a typical supercar from British company. It’s a coupe with electric powertrain and all-wheel-drive system. Something that’s almost we never expect from them. “This is, clearly, not a production-ready sports GT car, but it is a piece of fresh, bold thinking about what Aston Martin GT customers around the world could request of us in the future,” said CEO of Aston Martin, Andy Palmer. “We will, in due course, be entering a car into the new DBX space and I am very much looking forward to seeing how this concept is received not only here today, but also by our legion of existing loyal customers and by those potential customers around the world who have, to this point, yet to consider one of our cars,” he added.
The high-riding coupe comes with drive-by-wire electric steering, carbon ceramics brake, a KERS energy recovery system, and cameras in place of actual mirrors. For me, the DBX could be a preview of all-wheel-drive system in next Lagonda SUV or a GT with pure electric powertrain in the future. So, is there anyone who would buy an Aston Martin with EV machine and soundless?
