Geneva Show 2015 Highlights: Aston Martin Vulcan
Beside the Vantage GT3, there’s another race car from British company. Named Aston Martin Vulcan, it’s an exotic-hypercar that was made for track use only. It’s the answer for Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR. Based-on Aston Martin One-77, Vulcan’s body is made by carbon fiber. The coupe has pushrod suspension with anti-dive geometry, complemented by Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars front and rear, driver-adjustable anti-lock braking, and variable traction control.
To stop the beast, Aston Martin immerses Brembo racing calipers on carbon ceramic racing disc brakes measuring 380 mm in diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear. So, what’s hiding under the engine hood? There’s a naturally-aspirated V12 7.0 liter producing more than 800 hp. The monster is mated to Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox. 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan is only produced up to 24 units worldwide. According to David King, Director of Special Projects and Motorsports, said that they would be running a series of exclusive track days events commencing in 2016 that would offer opportunity to these customers to explore their driving capabilities.
